Gauteng councillor of the year announced

Press Release | March 15, 2017 | Johannesburg

The Insurance Institute of Gauteng (IIG) announced Olivia Smith as Councillor of the Year at their presidential inaugural event in Sandton on March 9, 2017. This is the second year in a row she receives the award from the work she does as Head of Marketing for IIG on a volunteerism basis.

In announcing Olivia as the recipient of the award former president of IIG Tracy McLaughlin said: “I was extremely fortunate that IIG councillors in 2016 delivered and contributed with passion on the goals we had set for ourselves and this made this decision that much more difficult."

“Olivia has demonstrated an on-going commitment to the organization, a passion for the industry and an enviable work ethic. She has delivered on the communication plan and also executed the marketing strategy for IIG International in Dubai and New York.”

The dedicated professional is celebrating sixteen years with Rosebank based Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) Africa in April where she works as a Marketing and Events Officer. “In my five years with IIG, I have and continue to work with a dynamic group of individuals who are contributing to the transformation of the insurance industry and this makes me proud to be a part of it. I would like to thank AGCS Africa CEO Thusang Mahlangu for allowing me to contribute to the development of the industry in Gauteng,” she said.
