Allianz kicks off search for footballer to represent South Africa in Junior Football Camp at FC Bayern

  • The camp will focus on future topics, digital technology and innovation in addition to football
Allianz Global Corporate Specialty (AGCS) Africa is searching for young football talent to represent South Africa at the Allianz Junior Football Camp (AJFC) 2018 in Munich, Germany from August 27 – 31, 2018. Hosted by Allianz and FC Bayern, #AJFC, offers up to 70 teenagers from 26 nations between the ages of 14 – 16, a chance to meet FC Bayern stars, be trained by youth coaches and participate in innovation and digital activities beyond football in a packed five day program.

This year, the camp will be aligned with the Allianz Global Explorer Program #ExploreWithUs and will look into topics of particular interest for digital natives in the technology space around the future of health, mobility and connected living with the aim to better understand participants’ needs, aspirations and lifestyle choices.

An independent jury consisting of football legend, Maimane Phiri, Allianz representative, and an independent legal expert, will select three players and decide on the ultimate winner, who will represent South Africa at the camp in Munich from August 27 – 31, 2018. The selection criteria include: passion for football, digital technology and future topics. The players will be selected at a tournament, which will be held at Three Square Sports Grounds, Alexandra, on June 22, 2018. Learners from Minerva High, Realogile High, Kwabhekilanga High, Alex High, Eastbank High, and Pholosho Junior Primary schools will be competing for the top spot.
