AGCS’s Cross-functional Smart Evolution (XSE) team hosted their first-ever expo in Munich, with guest speakers from Amazon Web Services, Kamax, and Ubirch rounding off a day that gave AGCS colleagues an insight into the work being done by our Innovation team.

The speaker sessions were complemented by a number of workshops on data science, pitching ideas, client co-creation and design thinking that allowed attendees a first-hand opportunity to explore the work done by XSE to explore AGCS’s digital transformation needs.

“This is a great way to bring colleagues into to an equal level of understanding about what we are doing,” said XSE’s Ali Shahkarami. “It also gives them an insight into other companies that are dealing with the same topics as us and the challenges they are facing in order to create a culture change.”

The day kicked off with a presentation from Chief Region and Markets Officer I Hartmut Mai and XSE’s Sandro Stark,  who discussed the vision for transformation in AGCS, before taking a step back to put current technology trends and developments into perspective for AGCS.

This was followed by sessions from Blockchain and Internet of Things-focused start-up Ubirch, automotive supplier Kamax, and Amazon Web Services. Each session then discussed the startup journey, the value of prototyping, and innovation and digital transformation respectively.

Additionally, there was a market place set up to offer insights into actual XSE projects, showcasing practical examples of how technology is currently being used to improve processes at AGCS.
