Changes to Allianz Commercial board in North America planned for late 2016

Press Release | March 15, 2016 | New York/Munich
Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty® (AGCS) announced that Art Moossmann, Board of Management member and President & CEO for AGCS North America (AGCS NA), will hand over his leadership responsibility for AGCS NA to Bill Scaldaferri from July 1, 2016, and will step down from the Board as of December 31, 2016.

Bill Scaldaferri will continue as Chief Underwriting Officer Specialty lines with responsibility for the aviation, energy, entertainment and marine lines of business, as well as for Allianz Risk Transfer, in addition to his new North American role. He joined Allianz in 1999 at Allianz Risk Transfer where he held various management positions including Chief Executive Officer, before joining the Board of AGCS in 2012. Bill is based in New York.

Chris Fischer Hirs, AGCS SE CEO, adds: “Art has had a distinguished career with Allianz stretching over 17 years, and has truly been the architect of what AGCS has built in North America. He kindly agreed to lead the integration of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company into AGCS, which he has done with great effectiveness and speed – and now I fully respect his decision to move on. I am delighted he will continue to be available to support us until the end of 2017 and will work closely with Bill to ensure a smooth handover. I sincerely thank Art for his notable contribution.”

Axel Theis, Member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE, who was responsible for the original move of the Fireman’s Fund Marine team led by Art to AGCS in 2009, commented: “Under Art’s leadership we have positioned Allianz in North America strongly for the future, and his leadership has been the engine that has driven our progress in this important P&C market. I would like to thank Art for his contributions and leadership.”
