Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Appoints Nicholas Pooley Aviation Major Risks Product Lead for North America

Press release | April 4, 2018 | New York

Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty® (AGCS) announced today that Nicholas Pooley has been named Aviation Major Risks Product Lead for North America, based in New York. Pooley joins AGCS from Marsh and McLennan, where he served as Senior Vice President responsible for aviation risk management consulting and strategic leadership.

In his new role, Pooley will proactively support the development and execution of the Aviation Major Risks strategy, driving the development and implementation of new products, and leading a team of senior underwriters within the Airline, Aerospace, and other Aviation-related industries. He will report directly to David Warfel, Regional Head of Aviation, North America.

“Nick’s brand of international experience, client relationships and industry knowledge are unmatched,” commented Warfel. “He’ll be instrumental in expanding our portfolio, and we are thrilled to welcome him on board.”

Prior to his time with Marsh & McLennan, Pooley held positions of increasing responsibility with Willis Group Holdings, eventually serving as Vice President, where he provided risk management consulting to a large group of middle-market aviation clients. He began his insurance career with Lloyd’s of London as a Claims Underwriter. Pooley has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, and he holds degrees from both Anglia University and Guildford School of Law – both located in the UK.

“Our clients are always top priority,” added Warfel. “By growing our Aviation team with industry leaders like Nick, we are further proving our commitment to best-in-class customer service and industry-leading product innovations.”
